The Lindauer

The Lindauer Cabin is named after Sigmund Lindauer who was a local mercantile owner at Georgetown during its hey days in the late 1800s.  Sig was a kind hearted man who often gave credit to the locals during tough times.  Mr. Lindauer’s memory lives on at the Deming/Luna County Museum where their main street display of stores includes the Lindauer Haberdashery.  Sig was lifelong friends with the Wild West character and one time Georgetown resident, Lottie Deno, aka Faro Nell, and later known as Char Thurmond. 

The Lindauer Cabin is built into the piñon forested hillside with a three sided wrap around deck.  Glass panels have been inserted into the front deck to ensure beautiful long range views of the Black Range of the Gila and the Georgetown town site. You’ll find a gas grill and plenty of room for outside enjoyment on the back deck. For a little star gazing, there is a gas fire pit and seating area in the front yard of the cabin. Real hardwood pine floors, blue stained pine cabinets, and a pitched ceiling all create a warm and welcoming feel.
